At ZümiFi, we’ve been in the business for a while and have a few favorite tools that help make our client’s businesses more efficient. One of the most critical aspects of our work is providing our clients with a powerful X-ray Vision of their financials, and we do that through our selection of tools.
One tool that we’ve compared is Xero vs. QuickBooks Online (QBO). While Xero purports to be an accounting system built in the cloud for the cloud, it’s not necessarily the best accounting system available. Our experience has shown that, while some clients can use Xero without issue, others find it annoying and limiting regarding accounting functions. In contrast, QuickBooks Online was built in a desktop environment but has since evolved into a cloud-based option often superior to Xero.
For example, Xero’s payroll functionality is still emerging and is only available for electronic filing in seven states. Meanwhile, QuickBooks Online offers more robust payroll capabilities that are available nationwide. With all these limitations, we often ask why someone would choose Xero over QBO when QBO is often the better option.
While many different accounting tools are available, choosing the one that works best for your business is essential. At ZümiFi, we recommend QuickBooks Online over Xero due to its superior capabilities, including more robust payroll functionality. We’re always happy to help our clients make the best choice for their needs. Contact us today to learn how we can help you with your bookkeeping needs.
