That’s exactly what recently happened for one of our clients – they received an IRS notice regarding a payroll filing for a prior year. She discovered that while the payroll service was responsible, there was a weird one-time glitch that hadn’t cleared the IRS account yet. Bingo! Problem solved, the form filed, no penalties, and the client is very happy! We cannot resolve everything that quickly, but we love it when it works!
