🔒 Important Update for QuickBooks Online Users: Reconnecting Bank Feeds! 🏦💼

Yikes! If you’ve logged into your QuickBooks Online recently, you might have noticed new warnings regarding your bank feeds. Let us shed some light on what’s happening: QuickBooks has changed how it connects with banks. The new connection method uses an open authentication standard called OAuth. Instead of using your login credentials, QuickBooks now requires you to authorize the bank to connect to your QuickBooks account.

Here’s what you need to do: Log into your online banking portal and grant permission for the bank to connect to QuickBooks. Once authorized, the bank will issue a “token” to QuickBooks, ensuring an ongoing connection.

The good news is that if you change your online banking password, you won’t need to update anything in QuickBooks Online. The authorized connection will remain intact. However, the bad news is that you’ll need to reconnect any existing bank feeds in QuickBooks Online.

Here’s where it gets a bit complicated: Most banks require the Primary User (typically you, the client) to authorize the connection to QuickBooks Online. We cannot complete this step on your behalf because we have view-only access. In such cases, please coordinate with your ZümiFi account manager. They will provide you with instructions on how to complete the authorization process in your online banking portal.

Acting promptly is crucial because many banks set deadlines for reestablishing these connections. We encourage you to reconnect your accounts when you encounter any issues to prevent disruptions. Investing a few minutes now will save you time and potential headaches in the future. So, don’t delay—reconnect your QuickBooks Online bank feeds today!
